Written Proof

I write the Knight a lot of emails, despite the fact he is generally sitting not far from me.

It's just...easier.

It's not that I'm shy. Or that there are things I just can't say to him. I can and I do. (I'll admit there were things I didn't say to him before, but I like to think most people don't meet a person and just start divulging their deepest darkest secrets. Except for on their blogs.)

It's just that somehow it just comes out less awkward and jumbled when I write it out as opposed to trying to vocalize it.

Plus I like that it puts the whole thing "on the record".

You know, so someday he can't say "You never said that."

I can just search that shit out in my gmail.

Or pull it up on my blog.

Not that he does that or anything.

In fact, it's more for me.

I remember the conversations. I will remember his expression, his tone, whether or not he was tapping his foot (the speed of which determines his mood).

But we've been over how I'm not that... perceptive. Sometimes I need to write it all out to be able to examine the facts properly and capture the sentiment.

His. Mine. Whatever.

I need to see those words appear physically to try to figure out just what they meant.

To him. To me. Whatever.

And above all, I've discovered I like to share these mushy, happy moments with my blog. This way you can see why I'm just so crazy happy over here. I have bad days (also showcased) but he's always there.

4 Commentary:

  1. I totally understand. I've always been able to better express myself on paper rather than out loud. I think it's a very sweet thing to do. x

  2. Me too. My husband thinks it is hilarious that I write him "love letters" via email. When he is a metre away from me.

    It's just safe.

  3. I'm so with you on this. I'm much better in writing. It comes out clearer and without the ums, ahs and stumbles.

  4. I enjoy putting it all in writing for evidence, as well. Plus, I have to strike while the iron's hot and somethings I just don't want to say while we're watching Jersey Shore.

Go ahead, tell me I'm crazy:
